Drink Me Potion from Alice in Wonderland

Drink Me Potion from Alice in Wonderland

“…so Alice ventured to taste it, and, finding it very nice (it had, in fact, a sort of mixed flavor of cherry-tart, custard, pine-apple, roast turkey, toffy, and hot buttered toast), she very soon finished it off.”
— -Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll

I've always liked strange things like Alice in Wonderland; I am a huge fan of the absurd. When I was studying I enjoyed the art classes in which we talked about surrealism. I enjoyed TV shows as Kablam!, or Rocko's Modern Life. The less sense it makes, the better for me.

In other news, a couple of weeks ago I got the last project for my Food Photography Workshop marked. I was nervous to see my mark for no reason: I got 93 out of 100. My instructor happens to be a very well respected food photographer so his advice and compliments mean the world to me. He commented of course on my style: perhaps you have noticed that I gravitate towards the dark side of life. He said I should stick to my guns if this is the way I see the world, and I do! I am a firm believer that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I try to find beauty even where people think they won't find it, like in darkness.

Anyway, back to the potion: I couldn't believe how good this is. Yes: it is sweet: very sweet, but at the same time refreshing and I promise you will want another round!

Now that the weather is warming up in Cape Town I see myself drinking a lot of "potions". It is too sweet to have it as a smoothie, or even to drink it on a regular basis, but it would make a great treat for hot weekends!
