End of Summer Papaya Smoothie
Papaya, or as it is called here in South Africa, "paw-paw", is difficult to find in this corner of the world. I come from a tropical land where all these deliciousness, like papayas, mangoes, pineapples and the like, are available almost all year-round. So I have to wait for the right season, to get it; after 7 years living here, I am still not sure what season is that. But, we are approaching winter, and I have seen them more often, so I will take a guess and say that in South Africa the papaya season is fall.
I am also very fond of smoothies. They are ideal when you are just too damn lazy to make a proper breakfast (or dinner, or lunch). And they make it easy to get in your daily recommendation of fruit.
I've also came across recently to "Chia Seeds"; apparently a super food. They look to me like what we call in Costa Rica "Chan seeds". They have the same gooey consistency when they are left to soar in water or any other liquid (like people do when they make Chia Pudding). My mom was very fond of "Chan seed juice", and it is very popular in my home country. I shall teach you how to make it one of these days, when I am sure if Chia and Chan are the same thing.
